In 2022, TI vehicle BMS layout continues to deepen, and product accuracy and low power consumption have been improved
TI is the world's largest market share company in BMS battery management chips. According to Yole, a French semiconductor consultancy, TI will have a 31 percent market share in the global battery management chip market in 2020. In 2021 and the first half of 2022, TI achieved a revenue of 131.94 billion yuan and 72.788 billion yuan respectively. At present, TI has laid out in the field of BMS battery management chips single-cell, multi-cell battery protection chips, linear/switching voltage up and down battery charge management chips, single-string/multi-string coulometer chips, battery monitors and weighing devices, as well as the battery certification chip product line that domestic manufacturers rarely do, BMS battery management chip product specifications have more than 500 types. Since 2022, TI has launched a number of new products of BMS battery management chips. First of all, for tablet computers, tablet computers, power tools, laptop applications of the new BQ294534, this is a battery management chip for two to three series battery secondary protection, overvoltage protection accuracy ±10mV, low power consumption of 1μA. At present, the battery protection chip of domestic manufacturers such as Zhongying Electronics, Cypicoelectronics, Wenxian Micro generally achieves the protection accuracy level of ±20mV. The battery protection chip BQ294534 launched by TI this year has higher protection accuracy and stronger competitive advantage. TI also introduced the BQ25176M, an 800mA linear charge management chip with a maximum input voltage of 30V and a 350nA low-power automatic sleep mode, as well as the TMP1827, a new battery management chip with an identity verification function that consumes only 1μA when powered off. In the field of vehicle gauge, TI has also made significant progress this year. It has launched for hybrid and electric power system, electric bicycle, electric scooter field BQ79652-Q1, BQ79654-Q1 in line with functional safety standards of vehicle gauge level 12 series, 14 series battery monitors. Operating at -40 ° C to 125 ° C, the ADC accuracy of ±1.5mV supports internal battery self-balancing, shunt resistor current detection and measurement, and integrated current sensing enables highly accurate battery voltage measurements across all battery channels up to 128μs through isolated differential Daisy chain communication.
TI has been in the automotive sector for many years, launching hundreds of global scale ics every year, and has the leading wireless BMS solutions in the field of BMS battery management chips. From several new products of BMS battery management chips launched this year, we can see that TI focuses on the development of industrial control, medical health and vehicle regulation fields, and the new products have improved in precision and low power consumption, showing strong competitive advantages in the industry
