ADI launches a new precision medium bandwidth signal link platform that connects a wide variety of sensors
Beijing, China -- Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) announced the launch of a new precision medium-bandwidth signal chain platform that improves system performance in DC to approximately 500kHz signal bandwidths for industrial and instrumentation applications. The new platform offers a complete set of signal chains with customizable solution options and comes with a select suite of development tools, such as LTspice® simulation, to help simplify the design process. Designed for accurate measurement of time and frequency, these reliable signal chains enable the terminal system to support a variety of sensor and measurement mode inputs from IEPE vibration/acceleration to temperature/pressure. More importantly, these signal chains help engineers enter designs with confidence to address the critical challenges posed by precision instrumentation in applications such as state-based monitoring (CbM), multichannel or distributed data acquisition systems (DAQs), position and motor control, and sonar.
The signal chains included in the platform have precision and power component options that prioritize both AC and DC precision design requirements, including options for single-channel or multi-channel systems, as well as high-channel density options that support multi-channel number systems. Precision medium-bandwidth signal-chain options include options that enable AC accuracy of instrumentation to be adjusted to power, low latency options for motor control and position sensing, and high-density options using signal-chain μModule SIP solutions or multi-channel converters. The designer of a multichannel number system can choose a signal chain that gives priority to channel synchronization, whether in channel isolated or non-isolated systems. Key features of precision Medium bandwidth: Optimized signal chain resolution and gain, regardless of amplitude, to provide the desired 16-24 bit accuracy across the widest range of sensor bandwidth. The priority of noise performance, signal bandwidth and power can be adjusted flexibly, and the preferred layout of circuits and multiple use cases can be reused through simple software updates. The higher channel density option extends the accuracy measurement to distributed or centralized multi-channel scenarios.
